The mighty red fort in Agra

In the morning we headed out to see the Red Fort.  I was feeling a bit crook but still enjoyed the visit – we had a wonderful guide who told us lots of stories and painted a great picture of how the fort would have been in its day.

The Red Fort is much bigger than I expected, construction began in 1565 and 3 mugal emperors added their own touch…  As a consequence the buildings have different styles.

In the afternoon we had some free time so I caught up with some zzz’s before we got the afternoon train to New Delhi.     We are nearing the end of the trip now, im feeling a bit sad but also very excited.   I’ve decided in the week before the next tour starts I will head north to Punjab (a state in the North of India).
