Julia’s Travel Wish List

After my 29th birthday I have started thinking more and more about my ‘Master Plan’ (or lack thereof). I have been a bit of a transient wanderer for a while and I’m kind of thinking maybe I should look at my priorities in life and start thinking about staying put somewhere.

So, as part of this pondering I wrote a list of all the places I’ve been to and all the places I would like to go.  I am pleased to say that the list of places I have been to is a lot longer than the list of places I want to go to (when you exclude the continents)… perhaps this is a sign the travel bug has nearly run its course!

Countries I have been to:
Australia
Austria
Belgium (lived there for 2yrs)
Cambodia
China
Czech Republic
England
France
Germany
Hong Kong (is that a country?)
India
Italy
Laos
Luxemburg
Malaysia
Monaco
Nepal
New Zealand (home)
Scotland
Singapore
Spain
Taiwan
Thailand (lived there for 2yrs + 6 months)
The Netherlands
Turkey
Vietnam

Countries I plan to visit next…
India (I don’t know when… but I know I will go back!)

Countries I really really want to go to:
China
Egypt
Mongolia
Morocco
Russia
South Africa

Countries I would like to go to:
Croatia
Hungary
Ireland
Japan
Jordan
North Korea (to see the Mass Games)
Poland
Romania
South Korea

Continents I would like to go to but haven’t researched yet so I don’t know what countries Id like to visit in them:

  • Africa – do an overland trip and see some animals (something I’ve wanted to do this since I was a little girl)
  • South America – The more I hear about it, the more I like the idea of travelling around South America

  1. Nepal is a very nice place. I didn’t go but if you really put yourself in it and go it’s a pity not to stay there. You hop from mountain community to another by Yeti Airlines. I live in Malta. How about coming here too? Small island in the Mediterranean with loads of history! Enjoy!
